Review: Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer

I did a review of Juice Beauty‘s Organic Cleansing Milk back in 2009, but hadn’t tried anything new since that. However, they recently launched a few noteworthy products in a new Stem Cellular Repair line. To refresh your memory, the company is focused on organic skin care, and uses lots of juice bases for their products, hence the name.

The Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer is meant to be used in the morning and at night, but since I only use moisturizer with SPF during the day, I’m sticking to using this at night. I swapped out the night cream I had been using, and started up with this moisturizer (for the past week or two).

The first thing you notice is the very unusual delivery system. When you open the top, the moisturizer is completely hidden. There’s an area you push down, and the moisturizer is pumped out through a little hole. I’m probably doing a terrible job describing this, but it’s cool, and I imagine cuts down on the bacteria that can end up getting in the product.

The smell is yummy — almost like lemonade. I strongly prefer this to the apple scent that some of Juice Beauty’s products have. As for consistency, it’s definitely on the thicker side (although not as heavy as many night creams), but goes on nicely and sinks in well. I’ve been using a fairly heavy hand in applying this because my skin is pretty dry right now, but I haven’t felt greasy or oily at all.
