{Review} The great mascara search continues

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any mascara reviews, because I’ve been stuck on my Clinique High Impact Mascara for a while now. But as someone who rarely sticks with one product for longer than one refill, I started getting antsy and decided it was time to experiment. Over the past two months I’ve tried several mascaras, so I thought I’d do a little roundup for you.

borgheseBorghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara, $19.50. Despite having tried and liked a few of their products, Borghese surprises me every time I try something new of theirs. I’m never expecting to like their products as much as I do (maybe because the packaging is kind of old school), and this mascara was no exception. It goes on really nicely — without any clumps — and is very buildable. Plus, it gives me the volume that is priority number one for my mascara picks. It lasts well through a full work day, with little or no flaking. This has taken up a coveted spot in my daily makeup case.

skinnSkinn Wow Factor Collagen Volumizing Mascara, available as part of a set for $31. This was my first time trying any products from the Skinn line, but I’m always happy to discover a new brand. Despite having the word volumizing in its name, I didn’t find this one to add much volume to my lashes. However, it does go on nicely, and if you’re someone who has issues with clumping, this mascara could work really well for you.

MaybellineMaybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara, $7.77. I am an admitted makeup snob, but the one thing that I’ve often bought at drugstores is mascara. But, it’s been a while since I’ve done even that, so I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this Maybelline mascara. It’s VERY volumizing, which is my top mascara priority, and didn’t clump. I had some very minor flakes one day that I wore it, but nothing major. I’d definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for an inexpensive buy.

What kind of mascara are you using these days? Any recommendations?

I love my Lancome Oscillation Mascara. It’s a bit pricy ($36) but is definitely volumizing. Use with their Booster Mascara as a base and you have very full and long lashes.
