Things I love this week — April 29th

What’s that? It’s still spring? Oh, because the 85 FREAKING DEGREE WEATHER this week led me to believe that we skipped straight to July. I’m not exactly a scientist, but if this is the result of global warming, Al Gore had better figure this crap out and get us back our lovely 70 degree spring days. On the plus side, I didn’t put on a jacket once this week, which has been quite refreshing. On the down side, we’re cheap and refused to turn on the air conditioning, so sleeping has not been a pleasant affair. Sigh.

Spring dresses: Weekend wear

Next up are dresses you can rock on the weekend. I chose a few casual daytime looks, and a couple that would be fun for evening activities.

J.Crew Sirah Dress, $69.50. This dress is the perfect blank canvas. You could throw on a different belt, pair it with wedges or metallic sandals, add a long necklace or scarf — and style it 100 different ways. This is one that I guarantee will get a LOT of wear all spring and summer.
Rachel Pally Racer Tank Maxi Dress, $220. Maxis are going to be ubiquitous this season, and this tank-style dress is a great option for the weekend. Throw on a braided belt to define your waist, and a pair of sandals, and you’re good to go.
Alice + Olivia Drapey Panel Dress, $275. Oh my fuschia — I am in love with this color. I’m putting it in the weekend wear category because if you see the back view, it’ a little risque for a wedding. But it could be a lot of fun for a bachelorette party or another girls’ night out. Or maybe a hot date..ow ow!
River Island Short Sleeve Dress With Lace Insert at ASOS, $81. This is a great dress up/dress down look. Lace is another big trend this year, and this dress does it right — ladylike, but not old lady.
Karina Grimaldi Mariana Print Dress, $233. Such a fun dress for a dinner date or meeting friends for drinks! The arm slits and short hemline balance out the high neckline really well.
